Privacy Policy
Money Basket keeps your money records on your phone. We don’t collect, see or sell your data. This page explains the optional features that use Google services, including the daily Google Drive backup.
1. Who we are
Money Basket is a personal budgeting app for Android made by RC IT Services (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles and how. If you have any questions, email your-email@example.com.
2. What we collect
We do not collect any of your information. Money Basket has no user accounts, no advertising and no analytics or tracking. We do not run servers that receive your data, and we never see your entries, budgets, savings pots or backups.
3. Data stored on your phone
Everything you enter (money in and out, categories, notes, budgets, savings pots, settings and any voice notes) is saved only in the app’s private storage on your phone. Other apps cannot read it. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data in your phone’s settings deletes it.
4. Google user data (daily Google Drive backup)
Money Basket has an optional “Daily backup to Google Drive” feature. It is off until you turn it on in Settings → Backup & export and allow access with your Google account.
What the app accesses
- Only files the app creates in your Google Drive, using Google’s limited
drive.filepermission. The app cannot see, open or change any other files in your Drive. - Your Google account email address, shown only in the app’s Settings so you can see which account your backups go to.
How the app uses it
- To create a folder called “Money Basket Backups” in your Drive.
- To save one backup file of your Money Basket data per day, replace that day’s file if the backup runs again, and delete backups older than the most recent 7.
- So you can restore your data later by choosing one of those files with the app’s Restore button.
Sharing and storage
- Backups go directly from your phone to your own Google Drive. They are not sent to us or to anyone else.
- We do not sell, rent or share Google user data, and we do not use it for advertising, profiling or any purpose other than providing the backup feature.
- No person at RC IT Services reads your Google user data.
Money Basket’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Stopping access
- Turn off “Daily backup to Google Drive” in the app to stop all future backups.
- Remove Money Basket’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Delete the “Money Basket Backups” folder in Google Drive to remove the backup files.
5. Other backups and exports
- Back up and Export to Excel (CSV): when you tap these, the file goes only where you choose, for example Google Drive, Gmail or your phone’s storage.
- Android backup: if backup is turned on in your phone’s settings, Android may copy the app’s data to your Google account so it can be restored when you reinstall or change phones. This is managed by Android and Google, not by us.
These services are covered by their own privacy policies, such as the Google Privacy Policy.
6. Voice, microphone and sound
- Voice entry: when you tap the microphone to add an entry by voice, your phone’s Google speech recognition turns your words into text. Your voice is processed by Google under the Google Privacy Policy. Money Basket receives only the text and uses it to fill in the entry form.
- Microphone permission: only requested when you use a voice feature, and only used while you are speaking.
- Voice prompts: spoken achievement messages use your phone’s built-in text-to-speech. Nothing is recorded or sent.
7. Fingerprint lock
If you turn on fingerprint lock, Android checks your fingerprint, face or screen lock. Money Basket only receives a “yes” or “no” result and never has access to your fingerprint or other biometric data.
8. Internet use
The app uses the internet to load its fonts and, only if you turn it on, to save backups to your Google Drive. No personal data is sent to us.
9. Security
Your data stays in your phone’s private app storage. Connections to Google Drive use encrypted HTTPS. Keeping your phone locked and your Google account secure helps protect your data.
10. Children
Money Basket is a general budgeting tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
11. Deleting your data
- In the app: Settings → Data → Delete all entries, or delete a basket.
- On your phone: uninstall the app or clear its storage.
- In Google Drive: delete the “Money Basket Backups” folder and any backup files you saved.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. Important changes will also be shown in the app.
